The Contest
The theme of this contest are the five gods of Tyria. The five gods play a very important part in the lore of Guild Wars. This is something I would like the community to get involved in. Entrants post your unfinished pieces here for input from the community. The more people wwe get involved the better. I want this to be a contest with some atmosphere.

The Prize
The prize for the winner of this contest is one unused prophecies CD-Key to start a new account or merge with a current one. For those curious as to why I would a spare key anyway please read this thread. Here

Rules
These rules are may seem extensive. But they are simply for the sake of a fair competition.

Entries must contain atleast one of the five gods as the main theme.
Entries with Abaddon as the main theme will be allowed.
Each person may only submit 5 entries.
All entrants work must be their own original work.
If an entry is a group piece. Majority must be yours and credit given where due.
Entries must be submitted to the email provided.
All entries must be a minimum size of 800x600 pixels.
Watermarked entries will not be judged. If said watermarking obstructs the main view of the art.
Entries must be full size or reduced as reasonable. Please state if reduced with reason.
Entries may not be submitted after due date. (Exceptions made under special circumstances)
Entries will be judged and the winner selected by myself.
Entries are to be submitted by email.
All questions may be answered on this first page in the Questions and Answer area. I will ignore PMs and emails asking questions.
Do not contact me ingame. I'm like everyone else. I just want to be able to play a game I enjoy.
Post your unfinished art in this thread for input from the community. Or a link to your deviantart, photobucket, etc. Images posted must be links. (I don't like page stretching horizontally or vertically.)

Questions and Answers

Are you allowed to do this? For those who didn't bother reading the other thread. Gaile Grey herself has approved of my idea.
Why is the due date to far away? I'm a college student so i'm restricted by my schools calender. That and I don't want to rush possible entrants. Rushed work is never your best work.
I'm just wondering, are texts allowed? Entries must be visual pieces of art. If you wish to write something I will add it into the user contributions section.
Can the picture be a free handed drawing of an already existing one? Original pieces of ANet or other peoples art. May be used for inspiration only. I'm looking for unique pieces of art, not a sketched copy.
Doesn't the picture have to be painted, digital, drawn, drawn then colored digitaly? I never stated in the rules for a particular style, so any style will be allowed. Variety is a good thing in my books.
Can we post five drawings of one god on each one? I can't stress this enough, read the rules. "Entries must contain atleast one of the five gods as the main theme." That basically means one or as many gods on each entry as you choose.
Is art of avatar elite forms allowed? Avatar forms are themed after the 5 gods of Tyria. So this is perfectly fine. Besides I like the elite form appearances as much as anyone else.
Is including a profession that follows a certain god in the entry allowed? To put it simply no. The Gods are the main theme of this contest. Their has never been a strong correlation between the professions and gods in the lore of Guild Wars or ingame. And if I were to allow it, I feel that entries may deviate to an extent that isn't acceptable by the rules. (Basically I don't want entries with Lyssa knows what character profession in centre with the god in the background.) However, exceptions will be made only at my discretion.

Edit November 9th 2006 14:08 GMT: Increased the maximum amount of entries per person from 2 to 5.

I'm loving this prize. I like guild wars cash (as the other prizes for GW contests have been), but it just feels weird that I'm getting something virtual for something that's not. This is something I think is worth the efforts the people will put forth. Also, I'm really hoping that my entry will be good enough to win. I don't really want the key as I've already got Prophecies and Factions, so if I do win, I'll be giving the key to a friend of mine as he doesn't have Prophecies.

I was bouncing ideas around for a few weeks now. This one seemed the best. I just love user made art. So many different art styles and artist tastes. This is why i love deviantart.
